I went to the Randolph Street Vintage Market today with an old friend from my very first architecture job. It was great to catch up… remembering where we’ve been… and seeing how far we’ve come… and soaking up all the beautiful things full of so much history. I love pretty much anything vintage, and I love imagining the past lives of objects and spaces… such richness and mystery… so today I’m sharing just a few of my favorite magical moments from this morning – enjoy! <3
Month: August 2013
having more than “good enough”
Today I’m sharing a link to a recent blog post by another local Chicago and very successful (and fabulous) business lady Jess Lively. I met Jess at her monthly Business in the City meetup here in Chicago. Right from the moment I first met her I knew I liked her, awesome energy, her whole business is about living with intention and she has awesome design sense and a love of all things gold and white – where has this girl been all my life and how am I just meeting her now?! structures 101: what holds up that ceiling?
So what was going on inside that ceiling?? I’m a little behind Kim and Scott in telling the story, so if you haven’t peeked at their blog already and seen, below are some photos of the demo and what we discovered (or they discovered, since they were the ones swinging the hammers!) when the drywall finally started coming down. decisions decisions… looking at options for Kim and Scott’s renovation
In the last post you got a first look at Kim and Scott’s new home. This is the plan of the home in its existing layout: A big challenge when turning a multiple unit dwelling into a single family home is how to transform the entry so that…
new client’s new beginnings
When did it turn August?? So much has happened since my last post back in… March?! oy… anyhoo, on with it… big time exciting project with Kim and Scott from yellowbrickhome! (Please take note of their buddy Half-y Giraffe-y – I swear, it’s destiny – Giraffe’s are my FAV!) I met this fantastic duo earlier in the year… I definitely believe that sometimes you are ‘meant’ to meet certain people… cross paths at certain points, and I’m super happy to have met this awesome pair! The first time I saw Kim and Scott was at a local small business meetup…
