apartment design progress // the waiting game

Even when you start a project ‘early’, it can feel like you are waiting forever for everything to arrive and get put in its place so that you can settle in. Add your sofa not fitting through the door to that equation and if Belinda isn’t frustrated from all this waiting, then I’m frustrated for her!

But we really have made a lot of progress… and in just a few weeks we’ll turn around and suddenly everything will be in its place – also known as: my favorite part of every project.

So what is this place going to look like anyway? Here’s where we are so far, almost everything is selected and ordered… just a few minor pieces left to find… in order to stay on budget and be able to include her big ‘wish list’ items, most of the pieces are from retailers accessible to anyone, and vintage finds that I think really add a personal and unique feel to her space.

willoughby furniture/ONE/ we are commissioning a painting by local artist Liz Tuckwell, another one of her pieces is shown here /TWO/ sofa, from room & board – custom upholstery of course /THREE/ floor lamp, from west elm /FOUR/ womb chair  (and ottoman), a classic, available at design within reach /FIVE/ shaggy rug, from overstock.com /SIX/ side tables, from One Kings Lane /SEVEN/ vintage Eames wire chairs, we found ours at a local vintage shop, you can get new ones at design within reach /EIGHT/ dining room table, we are getting one custom made in walnut with hairpin legs by one of my local favs Icon Modern, a similar style is shown here /NINE/ dining room light fixture from schoolhouse electric /TEN/ vintage credenza, from my favorite local shop Scout /ELEVEN/ bookshelves, from room & board

Can’t wait to share how everything comes together!
