Happy New Year!
I like to start off each year really indulging in all of the things that I love and want, to really set a strong tone for my year to come. In order to create everything I want, I immerse myself in them with extra intention at the new year, to make things more real.
Yesterday at the workshop I went to about Endings & Beginnings I got a great reminder that actually, our energy is finite, we don’t have an unlimited supply to be giving to anything and everything, so it’s important that we are aware of where we are putting our energy and attention. Who are we giving it to, and what are we investing it in. Are we giving our energy to things that we want to be creating? And if not, who and what is getting our energy instead?
One thing I noticed in the last few weeks is that I had started to feel kind of invalidated, like actually I didn’t do enough, or accomplish enough this year. Somehow I should have done more. Does that happen to anyone else? But when I really looked back at my year, that wasn’t true at all.
I actually loved reading through the memories from last year in my cheesy DIY jar. It gave me some laughs, I remembered things I had forgotten, there were some huge victories and accomplishments, and there were also some steps I took that didn’t work out the way I had hoped, but I loved revisiting even those moments because I took a step to have more of what I wanted, and they are super are important as well, no matter what the outcome. And I could really end the year and have all of my energy to put into this year.
Being able to go back and get a reminder that holy shit, I did a lot of huge things that actually changed the trajectory of my entire life was a great, and important, realignment. Perspective adjustment. And this year is going to be even better.
Happy New Year, I hope it’s the beginning of a year full of having even more of the things you love!
