Reconnecting with my body, and my new favorite workout{s}

I once had someone ask me when the last time I was happy with my body. I stopped and thought about it… have I ever been truly happy with my body? Maybe not… Over the past five years I’ve spent a huge amount of time investing in and developing my connection with my own energy, and with my spirit… learning meditation and clairvoyance… and it changed so much of my life. But in the same way I’ve developed those aspects of myself, I realized that I don’t often have a very strong connection to or communication with my body. So it’s…

My new morning {and nighttime} routine

I don’t think I do very well without a routine. One thing I love about real estate is that I have a more flexible schedule than when I was working in corporate america. But while it can be nice at times, what I’m learning this year {sometimes painfully} is that I still need a schedule and routine to make sure I don’t end up just wasting my time that isn’t filled up with appointments. I have so many things I want to be doing, but with no routine or structure I keep feeling like I’m just losing any extra time…

Committing.

I just realized… I have a problem with commitment. In my last video post I talked about realizing that I was playing it safe by always having twenty different things going on {contrary to my belief up until then that I was just amazing at multi-tasking… and just amazing in general}. I intentionally started taking things off of my plate so that I could really focus on the most important things I was wanting to create. But sometimes even when you make purposeful changes like that, you don’t quite see the effects that you are wanting… so what’s up? Last…

Feel Good Friday Inspiration

I had a post about real estate and dead deals all ready for today, but then I saw this video and changed my mind. {I know it’s disappointing ;) you’ll get to read about it on Monday though! ~ sigh of relief} Instead, I’m writing about something that’s a huge deal in most people’s lives and sharing a crazy inspiring story. How many things are standing in the way of us having our biggest dreams… the life and experiences we really want, if we could have everything we dream about… If you ask someone that question they will likely have a…

Diving into the awkward

As I was recording… and re-recording, my video post.. and then editing… and editing more… I kept feeling inadequate… clumsy… Things like ~ I don’t look or sound as good as other bloggers who do videos {or anyone else who is in front of the camera… ever} kept coming up… as I thought about bloggers and TV personalities who have been doing their thing for years, whether videos online or being actual TV show personalities and hosts… hmmm… But as I worked on it I realized {or rather remembered} something so so important ~ No one ever started something new…

Having Less… to Have More

Every year I have so much going on that I can’t manage it all… and one thing that always falls to the wayside is this blog {ARGH! – so frustrating!} Why can’t I get everything done?! Why am I not better at multi-tasking… why can’t I just keep going at 100 miles an hour constantly?! Well, I always have a ton going on in my life, and that’s something I’ve always felt good about… it was part of my idea of who I was… but was it really working for me, that’s the big question I had to get super…

Interior Inspiration: Incorporating Vintage Furniture

So, as much as I love spaces where everything is brand new, I really love incorporating vintage furniture into a space. I think there’s something special and unmatchable in a space that is that perfect mix of new and old… it has a richness and character that other spaces just don’t have. But not all antiques are the same… and there is definitely an art to mixing them ~ both with vintage pieces from other eras and with new furniture. As always, design is subjective, but with that in mind here are some of my ‘rules of thumb’ for incorporating vintage…

How are those Resolutions coming??

How are we already in the beginning of March?! I feel like we are literally racing through 2017… so as we enter the tail end of winter and round the corner toward Spring I’ve been thinking ~ how are those resolutions coming? I always feel like my birthday is more of a personal new year than January first, for me it’s a great chance to check in with yourself  and is a more ‘real’ time for starting new things. So this past week I’ve been spending some time thinking about how I’ve been doing with my own list of resolutions… and…

Small Changes, Big Transformation

I love seeing the transformation of a space pre and post-renovation. And of course it’s always super fun to see a space that needs a major space lift and be able to go in and change everything. But you don’t always need to rip everything out and start over from scratch in order to have a big transformation within a space. Sometimes just some small adjustments  can make a huge difference, and lucky for you I just worked on this exact type of space! Here we started with an underwhelming condo, with a layout and size that worked, but bad real-estate beige…

This ‘Aint Your Grandma’s Wallpaper

In the sea of trendy gray paint that’s all the rage right now, I’m on a personal mission to bring back wallpaper! I think wallpaper is so beautiful, my Instagram feed has a steady stream of vintage patterns that I come across and drool over. I love it. It’s an easy  way to bring an extra level of fun, color, and pattern to a space. It can take an already beautiful room to breathtaking, and it can take a forgettable or utilitarian space, like a hallway or closet, from invisible to star of the show. Today’s wallpapers are nothing like…
