We are in the part of our renovation where I feel like we are working constantly {so. many. decisions. to make!} but we aren’t seeing much progress day to day. I know that’s totally normal for any construction project but man does it take the fun right out of it sometimes… I’m ready to see some transformation! Since we’re doing this sublet through the end of the year that means no big designing and no big furniture purchases for about nine more months, until we find our permanent place. But that hasn’t stopped me from becoming really pre-occupied with what sofa I want in our next living room. I’m noticing a disturbing trend lately… I think it’s been going on for a while now and I just haven’t noticed, but an alarming number of homes are filled with absolutely horrible poo colored brown couches. Please. Stop this behavior immediately. Be better than a poo brown couch. I’m not really sure how anyone can look at that and think that it’s a good choice, forget trying to figure out why a furniture company would even offer it as an option. Eugenia’s renovation was a little bit of a two step project. There were the big projects that needed to be completed before the move in – refinishing the cabinets, painting the space and installing the new lights and ceiling fan, and then there was planning for the rest of the space in a way that Eugenia and her husband could implement over time at their own pace.
